The dog looks for her toy.
Is it on the chair?

3．Shopping
I like shopping with my mother.
At the store, we buy some apples.
The apples are red.
They look good. Yummy!
Then we buy some bread.
The bread is warm.
It looks good.. yummy!
I am always hungry after shopping!


4．Popcorn
I make popcorn.
There is some popcorn in the pot.
I hear a noise.
Pop!
I hear more noise.
Pop! Pop!
I hear a lot of noise!
Pop! Pop! Pop!
The popcorn pushes the top off the pot.
What a mass!


5．Clean Your Room
Bob’s mom is mad.
His room is a mess.
She says, “Clean your room!”
Bob puts his toys under his bed.
Bob puts his dirty clothes under his bed.
Bob puts his books under his bed.
He says, “My room is clean now.”


6．The Picnic
We are having a picnic at the park.
We play.
Then we get hungry.
We open the basket.
There are sandwiches. Yummy!
There are chips. Yummy!
There are grapes. Yummy!
There is watermelon! Yummy!
There is chocolate cake. Yummy!
There are ants. Yucky!


7．The Ant
The ant walks up the hill.
The ant walks over a stick.
The ant walks around some water.
The ant walks over a big rock.
Where is the ant going?
The ant is going to the park.
People are having a picnic there.


8．John’s House
My friend John lives in the country.
There is a pond near his house.
There are woods around the pond.
There is a tall tree in the woods.
There is a small house in the tree.
It is our tree house.


9．Sally’s Room
Many things in Sally’s room are purple.
She has a soft purple blanket on her bed.
She has a small purple table by her bed.
She has a big purple flower by her window.
She has pretty purple clothes.
Many things in Sally’s room are purple.
Sally really likes purple.
10．Morning
My alarm clock rings at seven in the morning.
I get out of bed.
I wash my face.
I brush my teeth.
I put on my clothes.
I eat eggs and drink orange juice for breakfast.
I carry my bag.
I go to school.


11．Snow
The snow is falling.
It is very cold outside.
I put on my winter coat.
I put on my hat and my mittens.
I go outside.
I feel cold wind blowing on my face.
My nose and ears are cold.
I just smile.
I can make a snowman.


12．We Cook
Our mother and father work.
They come home at six o’clock.
They are tired.
We cook dinner for our mother and father.
We like to cook.!
My sister can cook many things.
She can cook eggs, cheese and sandwiches.
I help her.
Cooking is fun!


13．Time for Bed
It is time to go to bed.
My dog sleeps on the floor.
My cat sleeps in a box.
My fish sleeps in water.
A spider sleeps in its web.
I sleep on my bed.
And we all sleep in my house.


14．The Farm
Every summer, Sue goes to her uncle’s farm.
She always has a good time there.
She gives corn to the chicken.
She gives apples to the horse,
She gives milk to the cat.
She gives meat to the dog.
She loves all the farm animals.
They loves her, too.


15．Buddy
This puppy’s name is Buddy.
He likes to play.
He likes to play with other animals.
Buddy says, “Cat, let’s play!”
But Cat is sleeping.
Buddy says, “Rabbit, let’s play!”
But Rabbit is sleeping.
Buddy says, “Duck, let’s play!”
But Duck is sleeping.
Buddy says, “Woof! Woof!”
Everyone wakes up.
Buddy says, “Let’s play!”


16．My Dog’s Nose
My dog has a good nose.
He likes to smell flowers.
He likes to smell trees.
He can smell things far away.
He can even smell a cookie in my pocket.


17．Lots of Balls
Lisa has lots of balls.
She has a big orange ball.
It is a basketball.
She has a black and white ball.
It is a soccer ball.
She has a little yellow ball.
It is a tennis ball.
Lisa likes a lot of sports.
But, she likes soccer most of all!


18．The Dog’s Bone
The dog finds a bone.
He is taking the bone home.
He walks by a river.
He goes over a bridge.
He sees another dog in the river.
The dog also has a bone in his mouth.
He says hello and drops the bone.
Now the dog has no bone.

He buys some popcorn and juice.
“The food is expensive,” he says.
We watch the movie. It is great!
When the movie ends, I hug him.
I say, “Thanks, Dad.”
I like seeing movies with you.”
Dad smiles and says.
“Let’s see another movie together soon.”


4．A Big Surprise
Steve gave Nancy a large blue box.
Inside the blue box was an orange box.
Inside the orange box was a pink box.
Inside the pink box was a small yellow box.
Inside the small yellow box was a tiny black box.
Inside the tiny black box was a big surprise.
Steve gave Nancy a silver ring!
Steve is very nice!


5．What Will You Be?
The teacher asked the students,
“What do you want to be when you are big?”
Bob said, “I want to be a doctor.”
Emily said, “I want to be a nurse.”
Joe said, “I want to be a astronaut.”
Sally said, “I want to be an actress.”
The teacher said,
“I hope all of you dreams come tree.”


6．Balloons
Alice had a bag of balloons.
She got a red balloon.
She blew it up.
She had a big balloon.
Brad got a green balloon.
He blew and blew.
He had a bigger balloon.
Cindy got a yellow balloon.
She blew and blew and blew.
She had the biggest balloon.
David got a blue balloon.
He blew and blew and blew and blew.
His balloon popped!


7．Still Hungry
After school, Dan was hungry.
He told his mom,
“Mom, I’m hungry.
Can I have a snack?”
“OK,” his mom said.
“I will make a hot dog for you.”
Dan ate it.
He was still hungry.
He ate an egg and a peach.
He was still hungry.
He ate some grapes and strawberries.
He was not hungry anymore.
Then his mom said,
“Dan, come to the table.
It is time for dinner.”


8．I Want To Be
Wendy told her mom,
“Someday, I want to be as tall as a tree.”
Her mom smiled.
Then Wendy said,
“Someday, I want to be as fast as a cheetah.”
Her mom smiled.
Then Wendy said,
“Someday, I want to be as strong as an ox.”
Her mom smiled.
Then Wendy said,
“Someday, I want to be as beautiful as you.”
Her mom hugged her.


9．Who Spilled the Milk?
A glass of milk spilled.
Mommy came into the kitchen.
“What a mess!” she said.
“Who spilled the milk?”
She asked my sister,
“Did you spill the milk?”
“Not me,” my sister said.
She asked me,
“Did you spill the milk?”
“Not me,” I said.
She asked Daddy,
“Did you spill the milk?”
“Not me,” Daddy said.
She asked all of us ,
“Who spilled the milk??”
“The cat spilled the milk!” we said.


10．Far Away
Aunt Helen lives far away.
She came by plane.
Two cousins live far away.
They came by truck.
My grandparents live far away.
They came by train.
My friends Mary and Jim do not live far away.
They live near my house.
They came on their inline skates.
My friend Bill also lives close.
He walked to my house.
Everyone came to my birthday party!
I am ten today!
