俚语“to be footloose and fancy-free”就是指“单身、自由,没有生活的羁绊”。 情人节好像快要到了,这个时候,祝大家开开心心,“not to be footloose and fancy-free”! When I was in my twenties, footloose and fancy-free, I would travel anywhere.

David Beckham is a Mac Daddy!! My sister will be staring at the television screen every time he appears.(大卫·贝克汉姆简直就是一个万人迷!!

David Beckham is a Mac Daddy!! My sister will be staring at the television screen every time he appears.(大卫·贝克汉姆简直就是一个万人迷!!

当然,除调侃的“昵称”外,twerp还有多种含意,它可以实指an irritating person(讨厌鬼)、an insignificant person(小人物)、an idiot(傻瓜)。 What a twerp he is !(他这个人真讨厌!) 还有一种观点说,twerp是twit(傻得令人恼怒的人)的变体。

If you have one spoiled (烂的) apple in a box with a lot of good apples, the bad one will soon damage the others. Because a bad person can have a negative influence on those around him or her, he or she is called a bad / rotten apple. "Every school has a couple of bad apples who damage its reputation (声誉)," Danny said. "Joseph is the rotten apple in our school."
