Dear customers,

This letter is to inform you about the changes regarding the VP8 cables. Hamilton has decided to transition from externally sourced VP8 cables to in-house sourcing. Thereby an adjustment, in the design of the connecting part was realized (Figure 1). Besides the new pin design, an optical modification has been implemented. Thanks to the visual aid, in form of an arrow next to Hamilton’s logo, it is now easier to find the initial point for snapping in the electrode.

Impact of Design Adjustment

The cable (double coaxial) and the entire functionality, including specifications and usability, remain unchanged. Our new cables underwent thourough testings and validations, in order to ensure the consistancy in your daily useage. All tests resulted in a low risk evaluation. Just like the current VP8 cable, the new design exhibits reliable and stable signaling up to 500 connection cycles. Table 1 includes the types of tests run and Table 2 lists all product specifications.

Effected Cables

The new cables are being replaced continuously. During the transition period of 1 year, the change from old to new cable will be noticeable to you through visual appearance and on the product label. Whereas the current VP8 cables are marked with “Made in the Czech Republic”, our new cables will be labelled with “Made in Romania”.
