Yuccies, Young Urban Creatives. In a nutshell, a slice of Generation Y, borne of suburbancomfort, indoctrinated with the transcendent power of education, and infectedby the conviction that not only do we deserve to pursue our dreams; we shouldprofit from them.
Yuccies，城市里年轻的创意人群，即“雅创客”。小范围人群，Y世代中的一小部分，生于安乐，受精英教育长大，坚信不但要追求梦想，还要靠梦想赚钱。
Yuccies are hardly mythical creatures. If you live in ametropolitan area like New York or San Francisco, you probably know plenty.They’re social consultants coordinating #sponsoredInstagram campaigns for lifestyle brands; they’rebrogrammers hawking Uber for weed and Tinder for dogs; they’re boutique entrepreneurs shilling sustainably harvested bamboosunglasses.
雅创客并不是什么神秘物种。如果你住在纽约或旧金山这样的大都市，你身边可能就有不少。他们可能是为某个生活品牌协调推广Instagram活动的咨询人员，可能是业余跑黑车挣钱买大麻或在Tinder上给狗狗相亲的社交程序员，也可能是售卖环保竹制太阳镜的精品店小老板。
Getting rich quick would be great. But getting rich quick andpreserving creative autonomy? That’s the yuccie dream.
快速致富当然好。但是，快速致富的同时能够保持创新自主权，才是雅创客之梦。
When they graduated college, many didn’t bother attempting a traditional career path.They jumped headlong into a hectic, win-lose-pivot entrepreneurial stew, evenif it meant a pay cut. According to this 2014 Deloitte survey, 6 out of 10 millennialscited their company’s sense of purpose as part of thereason they chose their job. In the same study, just 12% identified “own personal gain” as a primary leadershippriority.
大学毕业后，雅创客们多不会走传统的事业发展路线，而是投身于忙碌、起伏的创业大军，就算收入减少也在所不惜。德勤公司2014年的调查显示，00后当中有60%在选择工作时看重公司的使命感，只有12%的人把个人所得作为优先考虑的因素。
